Photos from the first project supported by KAZI Startfunding: traditional, local palm oil production in the Ifakara region of Tanzania, led by Rozalia Mpangala! The palm fruits are harvested from wild palm trees growing in gardens, farms, and cities. The refining process involves burning the sun-dried fruit shells instead of using any coal or wood! The project will empower the entire community and increase its income for both locals who can sell the fruit and the numerous workers involved in the local oil production who will dry, clean, shell, and press the fruit. An amount of 500,000 TSH (about 220 CHF), to be paid back in 4 months without any bank costs!
